Digital Support Opportunity
Batley Birstall Community Anchor Digital Inclusion Project
We are working in partnership with Locala, TSL and the Community Anchor Network and are pleased to be part of a pilot project to provide a loan scheme of digital devices (tablets) for individuals living in the Batley & Birstall area.
The following equipment will be provided on a free loan basis for up to 6 months:
Tablet Device
Sim Card (Data is only provided if the user has no Broadband/Wi-fi)
Case
The equipment is provided with easy set up instructions, including instructions for using Zoom and Google along with some basic terms and conditions. We will provide signposting and resources for IT support.
Criteria for Loan
The individual must reside within the Batley & Birstall Anchor Area and be happy to agree to:
A loan agreement
Agree to participate in a survey questionnaire (Based on a Digital Evaluation Toolkit (at pre, during and end of the pilot stage)
Agree to fortnightly check-in calls/contact from the Batley & Birstall Anchor team (at this point we will also offer signposting support if required)
Details of a short online safety course will be provided to all recipients – the course must be completed within two weeks of receiving the device and at the time of the first review/check-in Anchor call.
The responsible person in receipt of the tablet must be over 18
Identified by a referrer according to the criterion below:
Those digitally excluded and requiring support with no other means of accessing equipment for:
Adult Learning and Education purposes
Individuals suffering social isolation/loneliness
Improving Digital Skills
Financial Hardship
Wellness/Fitness
Other (to be discussed with referrer)
