Our diamond Jubilee celebrations in June 2012 were extremely special. Our very own Mrs Beaumont, a West End singer and dancer, opened our party with a rousing performance of 'Rule Britannia.' Parents and our community friends joined us, with their picnic, and we ate together on specially themed tables. During our picnic, St John Fishers High School steel drum bands played and then it was the turn of the children of Batley Parish to Perform. Year 6 performed a special dance to the Commonwealth anthem 'SIng;' the singing group sang a number of songs and there was a fashion show -East Meets West - where children dressed in each others national dress.
It was a special day and one we will treasure forever!
Alice: The MusicalIn Summer 2012, Mr Richardson's drama group produced Alice : The Musical. The children worked really hard, from Easter, to put on a glittering spectacular. The mad hatter was truly mad; Alice was adventurous and a little mischievous and caterpillar was extremely cool and sophisticated.
Reviews of the show were excellent with many parents and visitors commenting, in disbelief at the complexity of the dialogue and the variety of songs that the children had learnt.
They also marvelled at the handiwork of Mrs Tomlinson who had designed and hand stitched the costumes! Wow! Take a look at the gallery above and feel the flavour of the incredible night!

We are currently in rehearsal for our Christmas nativities and KS2 Christmas musical extravaganza!

During our Summer Fair and at the Jubilee celebrations, we also enjoyed the children's special fashion show in which cultural dress was celebrated by all children and the children performed a show to music from Bollywood.
We celebrate and embrace difference respect that people have different faiths and beliefs.
London Diamond Jubilee Visit
Our children joined with the rest of Batley Birstall pyramid for a special Jubilee stamp competition. Children designed a stamp to reflect and celebrate Britain, the commonwealth and its monarchy. Two winners from each school, Jack Kaye and Amaara Siddique from Batley Parish School, joined the early train for London and spent a day sightseeing. We had a conducted tour around the Houses of parliament and went on the London duck tour A great day was had by all.
