Here, There and Everywhere

This half term our topic is 'Here, There and Everywhere'. We will be learning about travelling, transport, different places both local and abroad and also getting ready to transition into our new settings! Please keep checking this page for updates on where our topic has led and what we have been doing!

Our first week as very focused on minibeasts based on the children's interests and our new caterpillars. The second week we have started our learning on transport and places. The children have loved the story 'The Train Ride'. We made a fantastic train both indoors and out and created some beautiful  pastel pictures.

Our third week we had a great time making Eid cards and learning about Eid. Lots of our children were able to share their experiences and we talked about other celebrations too!

Our forth week we thoroughly enjoyed 'Spanish Day'. The children made instruments, sang and danced to 'La Bamba' and enjoyed making their own Spanish flags and fruity version of sangria.

Our fifth week consisted of lots of outdoor learning and our Spirts Day. It was a fantastic morning and we cannot thank the families who attended enough. It was great to see so many of you there! Lots of our older children also went to visit their new school this week, how exciting!

Caterpillars

Fantastic news our caterpillars have arrived! On Thursday 8th June we became the proud carers to them. We are so excited to watch them grow and learn all about them. We have already been learning what a lifecycle is and what a butterfly lifecycle looks like. Have a look at our photos to see what fantastic minibeast activities we have been doing!

Important Dates

Leaving Presentation – 19th July 11am or 3pm – In Nursery

Each year we like to celebrate the children’s progress and as 44 children will be leaving us in July we feel this is a lovely time to say goodbye to them too! We would like to invite you to join us for our ‘Leavers Presentation’ on Wednesday 19th July at 11am or 3pm, depending on the session your child does. If you child does not attend on these days we would still welcome you to bring them along. We will be singing some songs and also presenting your child with a certificate. If the weather is nice we will do this in our nursery playground on the little stage. We hope you can make it!

Bouncy Castle and Teddy Bear's Picnic – 20th July – In Nursery

As we do not have a trip in nursery we have decided to hire a bouncy castle and slide for the children, this will be on Thursday 20th July. We will provide some party food for a little teddy bear’s picnic and ask that on this day your child brings a teddy with them. Thank you, we cannot believe we are planning an end of year celebration already!
